Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove the cover that covers the engine in the engine compartment.
TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine casing.

3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.
4. Remove and discard the 2 vacuum pump mounting screws.
5. Remove the vacuum pump and discard the sealing ring.
Assembly
1. Clean the vacuum pump and mating surfaces from dirt.
2. Install a new sealing ring.
3. Rotate the pump drive shaft until it aligns with the camshaft, install the vacuum pump in place and tighten the new mounting screws to a torque of 22 N·m.
4. Connect the vacuum hose to the pump and tighten the retaining clamp.
5. Replace the cover that covers the engine components.

6. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
