Cooling system fan (Defender 2007+)

Special tool(s)

	Cooling Fan Wrench 303-1142
	Cooling Fan Fixing Tool 303-1334

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the upper cooling fan shroud. Release the 6 clips.



3. Using special tools, remove the cooling fan.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed only for access.

Remove the viscous coupling. Unscrew the 4 bolts.

Installation

1. Install the viscous coupling.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

2. Using special tools, install the cooling fan.



3. Install the upper cooling fan shroud. Engage the 6 clips.



4. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
