Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the air intake box.

HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.


3. Drain the air conditioning system and collect the refrigerant.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AIR CONDITIONER DRAINING, REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND CHARGING, Air conditioner draining - refrigerant recovery and refilling.


4. Remove the glove box.

5. Remember the installation position and disconnect the 8 connectors from the fuse box.

6. Remove the 4 Torx screws securing the fuse box and move it to the side.

7. Loosen the screw securing the floor duct to the bracket. Remove the duct.

8. Release the evaporator sensor cable from the TXV unit cover.

9. Remove the 4 Torx screws securing the TXV unit cover and move it to the side.

10. Remove the 2 Allen screws securing the air conditioner pipes to the bulkhead, disconnect the…


10. Remove the 2 Allen screws securing the air conditioner pipes to the bulkhead, disconnect the pipes, remove and discard the sealing rings.



11. Remove the 2 Allen screws securing the A/C pipes to the TXV unit, disconnect the pipes, remove…


11. Remove the 2 Allen screws securing the A/C pipes to the TXV unit, disconnect the pipes, remove and discard the O-rings.

12. Remove the TXV unit.

13. Close the holes of all connections with plugs.

Assembly


1. Clean the mating surfaces and seal locations of the evaporator, TXV unit and A/C piping.

2. Lubricate new sealing rings with clean special oil and install them on the evaporator pipes.

3. Install the TXV unit onto the air conditioning pipes, install the clamps, tighten the mounting screws and tighten them to 6 Nm.

4. Position the air conditioner pipes on the bulkhead, tighten the mounting screws and tighten them to 6 Nm.

5. Install and secure the TXV unit cover.

6. Position and secure the lower heater duct.

7. Secure the evaporator sensor cable.

8. Install the fuse box and secure it with screws.

9. Connect the connectors to the fuse box connectors.

10. Install the glove box.

11. Fill the air conditioning system.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AIR CONDITIONER DRAINING, REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND CHARGING, Air conditioner draining - refrigerant recovery and refilling.




12. Install the air intake box in place.

HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.


13. Connect the negative battery terminal.
