Compressor Drive Belt — V8 Engine (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling

1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the lower engine guard.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Engine protection - front.

4. Loosen the 2 additional belt tensioner screws.

5. Turn the tensioner to loosen the belt tension.

6. Remove the belt from the tensioner pulley.

7. Remove the belt from the crankshaft pulley.

8. Loosen the two screws securing the compressor belt tensioner.

9. Remove the belt from the tensioner pulley.

10. Remove the belt from the crankshaft and compressor pulleys.

Assembly

1. Make sure the transmission pulleys are not damaged or dirty.

2. Place the belt on the crankshaft and compressor pulleys.

NOTE: Make sure the belt is properly positioned in the pulley grooves.

3. Install the compressor drive belt onto the tensioner pulley.

4. Turn the tensioner to fully tension the compressor drive belt.

5. Tighten the 2 belt tensioner screws to 25 Nm.

6. Place the accessory drive belt on all pulleys except the tensioner pulley.

7. Place the belt on the tensioner pulley. Make sure the drive belt goes around all pulleys.

8. Turn the tensioner to fully tension the accessory drive belt.
