CAUTION: Avoid prolonged hand skin contact with used engine oil. Used engine oil contains harmful substances that can cause skin cancer or other serious skin conditions.
Replacement
1. Raise the car on a lift.
2. Install a suitable container to collect the oil.
3. Wipe the area around the drain plug.
4. Turn out a drain stopper and remove a sealing ring.
5. Let the oil drain.
CAUTION: Be careful when draining the oil, it can be very hot.
6. Lower the car.
7. Remove the oil filter cap, remove and discard the O-ring.
8. Remove and discard filter element.
9. Remove and discard O-ring from center tube.
10. Clean the filter housing and cover.
11. Lubricate new o-rings with engine oil and install them on the center tube and filter cover.
12. Install a new filter element into the filter housing so that the large diameter filter element opening is at the bottom of the housing.
13. Install the oil filter cover and tighten to 25 Nm.
14. Raise the car on a lift.
15. Install a new gasket on the crankcase drain plug.
16. Install the drain plug and tighten it to 23 Nm.
17. Lower the car.
18. Fill the engine with the recommended engine oil to the correct level. Check the level using a dipstick.
FILLING CAPACITIES, USED FLUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.
19. Start the engine and let it idle until the low pressure indicator in the lubrication system goes out.
20. Stop engine, recheck oil level.
21. Check for signs of oil leaks.
