General remarks
NOTE: If possible, use a roller stand to test the braking forces of all four wheels simultaneously.
Stand for simultaneous testing of braking forces of all four wheels
Ensure that the front and rear pairs of rollers rotate at the same speed, and ensure that the established safety regulations are observed. There are no restrictions on the wheel speed during the test, except for the limitation imposed by the maximum permissible tire speed.
CAUTION: The automatic transmission selector must be in position N, the hill descent control must be off, and the parking brake must be fully released.
When checking the brake forces, the engine must be idling to provide the vacuum required for the vacuum booster to operate.
Stand for simultaneous testing of braking forces of wheels of one axle
If the braking forces are determined on a stand for simultaneous testing of the braking forces of the wheels of one axle, the following precautions must be taken:
- Disconnect the cardan shaft from the transfer case, driving the wheels of the axle that is not mounted on rollers.
- Set the automatic transmission selector to position N.
