Front door lock release rod and drive (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Bend back the plastic sheet in place to gain access to the mechanism.

3. Remove the spring clip and disconnect the drive rod from the latch mechanism.

4. Remove 2 screws and take out the push button rod and lever mechanism.

Installation

1. Fix the push button rod and lever mechanism to the door with 2 screws.

2. Connect the drive rod to the latch mechanism assembly and secure it with the spring clip.

3. Reseal the plastic sheet and install the door trim panel.
