Front door interior handle (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. In place, remove the plastic sheet to gain access to the door opening handle.

3. Release the spring clip and disconnect the drive rod from the latch mechanism.

4. Release the drive rod from the plastic clip in the support panel.



5. Remove the two screws securing the door opening handle to the support panel and remove the lever and drive rod.

Installation

1. Slide the drive rod into place and loosely secure the arm to the support panel with two screws.

2. Connect the drive rod to the latch mechanism and secure with a spring clip.



3. Tighten the control lever mounting screws.

4. Secure the drive rod to the plastic clip in the support panel.

5. Secure the plastic covering.

6. Install the door trim cover.
