Adjusting the latch cable (Defender 2007+)

General procedures

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Carefully remove the plastic sheet to reveal the mechanism.

3. Release the clamp and disconnect the solenoid rod from the latch.



4. Raise the latch fully.

5. Fully extend the electromagnetic actuator and then lower it by 3.5mm ±1.00mm.

6. While holding the actuator in this position, adjust the length of the rod so that the rod pin is aligned with the hole in the latch lever.

7. Connect the rod and secure it with a clamp.



8. Secure the plastic sheet.

9. Install the door trim panel.
