Luggage compartment door lock (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the trunk lid trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Tailgate trim panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Release the central door locking rod hinge. Remove the screw.



3. Release the rear door retainer. Unscrew the 4 nuts.



4. Remove the rear door retainer. Disconnect the rear door retainer from the traction rod hinge.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed for access only.

NOTE: Make sure the latch is in the locked position.

Using a suitable tool, release the lock cylinder.



6. Insert the key and remove the lock cylinder.

Installation

1. Install the elements in place in the reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).
