Front door exterior handle (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Remove the door reinforcement panel and support the glass with a board.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Front Door Reinforcement Panel (501-03 Lockable body parts, Removal and installation).

3. Disconnect the drive rod from the handle mechanism.

4. Disconnect the rod from the cylinder locking lever.



5. Remove the two screws and remove the handle assembly.

Installation

1. Install the handle onto the door, making sure both frame pieces are in place with the flat surfaces facing the door, and secure with two screws.



2. Connect the rod to the handle drive lever and secure with a spring clip.

3. Connect the rod to the cylinder locking lever and secure with a spring clip.

4. Install the door reinforcement panel.
