Rear door lock release rod and drive (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Remove the door trim panel.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Rear Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior trim, Removal and installation).

2. Bend back the plastic sheet in place to gain access to the mechanism.

3. Release the spring clip securing the button to the drive rod and disconnect the rod from the button.

4. Remove the 2 screws securing the button to the door panel and remove the button.

Installation

1. Secure the lock button assembly to the door with 2 screws.

2. Connect the drive rod to the button assembly and secure it with the spring clip.

3. Reseal the plastic sheet and install the door trim panel.
