Checking oil pressure (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.


Examination


1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor contact.

TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Oil pressure sensor.


3. Install the sealing washer onto the LRT-12-052/10 pressure gauge adapter.


3. Install the sealing washer onto the LRT-12-052/10 pressure gauge adapter.

4. Install the LRT-12-052/10 adapter in place of the contact pressure sensor and tighten it.

5. Install the LRT-12-052C pressure gauge and tighten the fitting.

6. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.

7. Connect the negative cable to the battery.

8. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

9. Record the oil pressure value with the engine running without load at 3500 rpm.

10. Turn off the engine.

11. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

12. Unscrew the pressure gauge.

13. Unscrew the adapter.

14. Wipe away any oil stains.

15. Install the oil pressure sensor.

TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Oil pressure sensor.


16. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.

17. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
