Soundproof engine casing (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the upper engine cover.

TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine casing.

3. Loosen the bolts securing the noise-insulating casing, release the latch and remove the casing.

NOTE: No further disassembly is necessary if the cover was removed only for access.

4. Disconnect the 5 clips securing the noise-insulating padding to the casing.

Installation

1. Clamp the packing to the casing.



2. Install the noise-insulating casing in place and tighten it with bolts. Tightening torque 5 Nm.

3. Install the upper engine cover.

4. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
