Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the casing and remove it.
NOTE: No further disassembly is necessary if the cover was removed only for access.
3. Remove the stops and seals from the upper casing.
4. Disconnect the 3 clips securing the noise-insulating padding to the casing. Remove the padding.
Installation
1. Use clamps to secure the sound-insulating padding to the casing.
2. Install the feedthrough seals and stops.
3. Replace the upper casing, screw in and tighten the mounting bolts. Tightening torque 5 N·m. Connect the negative battery terminal.
4. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
