Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removal


1. Place the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the lower protective cover.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Engine protection - front.


4. Place a container to collect any spilled liquids.

5. For right-hand drive models: Remove the hollow bolts securing the power steering fluid supply…


5. For right-hand drive models: Remove the hollow bolts securing the power steering fluid supply pipe to the power steering pump, remove the pipe and discard the O-rings.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing engine components, clean any dirt from areas immediately adjacent to mating surfaces or connectors. To prevent contamination, plug open connectors.


6. Remove the air intake receiver.

HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORK, Air filter - air intake.


7. Remove the turbocharger air inlet hose.

8. Using tools LRT-12-094 and LRT-12-214, loosen the fan viscous coupling mounting nut and remove…


8. Using tools LRT-12-094 and LRT-12-214, loosen the fan viscous coupling mounting nut and remove the fan assembly from the coolant pump.



NOTE: Thread is left-hand.


9. Loosen, but do not completely remove, the nut securing the engine support bracket to the left…


9. Loosen, but do not completely remove, the nut securing the engine support bracket to the left engine mount.

10. Unscrew the nut securing the right engine support to the support bracket.


10. Unscrew the nut securing the right engine support to the support bracket.

11. Unscrew the two bolts securing the right engine support to the subframe.

12. Loosen the air conditioning compressor mounting bolt and remove the ground wire.

13. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the support.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing engine components, clean any dirt from areas immediately adjacent to mating surfaces or connectors. To prevent contamination, plug open connectors.


14. Place rigging chains on the engine lifting eyes and lift the engine only enough to clear the engine mount.

15. Remove the engine mount.

Installation


1. Wipe the mating surfaces.

2. Install the support.

3. Screw in the support mounting bolts to the subframe, but do not tighten them.

4. Lower the engine onto the support.

5. Tighten the support-to-subframe mounting bolts. Tightening torque 56 Nm.

6. Tighten the engine support bracket nuts to the supports. Tightening torque 100 Nm.

7. Unhook the rigging chains.

8. Connect the vacuum hose.

9. Connect the ground wire and tighten the compressor mounting bolt. Tightening torque 24 N·m.

10. For right-hand drive models: Wipe the power steering pump fluid supply line and its connection points.

11. For right-hand drive models: Using new O-rings, install the tube onto the pump and tighten the banjo bolts. Tightening torque is 36 N·m.



12. Install the fan on the pulley and tighten the viscous coupling mounting nut. Tightening torque 40 Nm.

13. Install the turbocharger air inlet hose.

14. Install the air intake receiver.

HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORK, Air filter - air intake.
