Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

Removal


1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the oil pick-up pipe.

ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Oil pick-up pipe with mesh filter.


3. Unscrew the 4 bolts securing the oil pump to the cylinder block.

4. Remove the oil pump from the mounting pins, remove the oil pump drive chain from the drive sprocket and take out the oil pump.

5. Secure the oil pump drive sprocket in a vice with soft jaws and unscrew the bolt securing the…


5. Secure the oil pump drive sprocket in a vice with soft jaws and unscrew the bolt securing the sprocket to the pump. Remove the sprocket from the pump.



Installation


1. Wipe the drive sprocket and the mating surface on the oil pump shaft.

2. Install the drive sprocket onto the oil pump and screw in its mounting bolt.

3. Secure the drive sprocket in a vice with soft jaws and tighten its mounting bolt. Tightening torque 25 N·m.

4. Place the chain on the sprocket and install the oil pump on the pins. Tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 25 N·m.

5. Install the oil pickup pipe.

6. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
