Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all precautions specified for this procedure have been followed.

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Crankshaft pulley.

3. Install the LRT-12-168/2 puller head until it stops against the crankshaft.
4. Make sure that the hole of the LRT-12-168/1 fixture is free of burrs.
5. Position the LRT-12-168/1 tool against the front crankshaft oil seal and tighten the bolt to remove the oil seal.
6. Remove the puller head from the crankshaft.
Installation
1. Wipe the surface of the bore for the oil seal in the front cover and the sealing surface of the crankshaft.

2. Install the LRT-12-209 oil seal guide onto the crankshaft.
3. Install the oil seal evenly onto the crankshaft and remove the guide.
4. Install stud LRT-12-210 on the crankshaft.
5. Place the LRT-12-211 mandrel on the LRT-12-210 stud, and use your fingers to tighten the mandrel with the nut until it stops.
6. Continue tightening the nut until the LRT-12-211 driver rests against the front cover.
7. Remove the LRT-12-210 and LRT-12-211 tools.
8. Install the crankshaft pulley.
TD6 ENGINE, REPAIR WORK, Crankshaft pulley.
9. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
