Special tool(s)


Front Oil Seal Remover/Installer 303-679 (21-238)

Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Crankshaft Bearings (303-01 Engine - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, On-car repair).

3. Using the special tool, remove the front crankshaft seal and discard it.

Installation


1.
NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the elements.


NOTE: Install a new front crankshaft oil seal.


NOTE: The new front crankshaft oil seal is supplied with a locating sleeve that must be removed during installation.




Using the special tool, install the crankshaft front oil seal.

Using the special tool, install the crankshaft front oil seal.


2. Install the crankshaft pulley.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Crankshaft Pulley (303-01 Engine - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, On-car repair).

3. Connect the ground wire to the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Connecting the Battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
