Review
The 2.4-liter diesel engine is a 4-cylinder unit with direct injection, 4 valves per cylinder and 2 overhead camshafts. The toxicity of the engine exhaust gases meets the requirements of the European environmental standards ECD4; to limit emissions of harmful substances, the engine uses a catalytic converter, an electronic engine management system, a forced crankcase ventilation system and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. The engine has liquid cooling and turbocharging. A distinctive feature of the fuel injection system is the use of common rail technology.
Cylinder block made of compacted grey cast iron; a lightweight, compact and very strong stepped cast aluminum alloy plate is bolted to the bottom of the cylinder block to increase its rigidity. The cylinder head is cast from aluminum and is equipped with a cast plastic camshaft cover. The non-separable oil pan is made of stamped steel. The exhaust manifold is made of cast iron and has a flange for connecting the turbocharger. To reduce the noise level from the engine, a noise-insulating plastic cover is installed on top of it.

Cylinder numbering

The cylinders are numbered as shown above: cylinder 1 is located at the front of the engine.
Engine Identification Code

Information obtained from the website www.lrman.ru
| Pos. | Spare part number | Name |
| 1 | - | Engine code |
| 2 | - | Engine serial number |
The engine serial number (12 digits) and engine code (5 digits) are stamped on the exhaust side of the cylinder block, parallel to the clutch housing.
Engine identification plate

The engine identification plate is located on the timing cover. It indicates the date and time of manufacture, as well as the engine catalog number.
