Right engine mount — removal and installation (Defender 2007+)

Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the hood.

For more information, see the chapter: Hood (501-02 Front body panels, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the upper cooling fan shroud. Release the 6 clips.

4. Unscrew the left engine support nut.

5. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. Remove the 5 bolts.

5. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. Remove the 5 bolts.


6. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

7. Disconnect the charge air cooler inlet hose. Release the clamp.

8. Unscrew the nut of the right engine support.

9. Using a suitable hydraulic jack, raise the engine a maximum of 45 mm.

10. Remove the right engine mount. Remove the two bolts.

Installation


1. Install the elements in place in the reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 80 Nm).

2. Tighten (tightening torque 80 Nm).

3. Tighten (tightening torque 3 Nm).

4. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).

5. Tighten (tightening torque 80 Nm).

5. Tighten (tightening torque 80 Nm).


6. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
