Removing
1. Disconnect "negative" battery wire.
2. To improve access, remove the oil dipstick.
3. Place a rag under the oil filter housing to collect spilled oil.
CAUTION: Care must be taken to ensure that no oil or other liquid gets on or into the generator.
4. Using a socket wrench, carefully loosen the filter housing cap and allow the oil to drain into the sump.
5. Unscrew the filter cap and discard the 3 gaskets.
6. Remove and discard the filter element.
Installation
1. Wipe the filter cover and filter housing.
2. Install a new filter element in the housing.
3. Install new gaskets and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
4. Replace the oil filter cap and tighten it. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
5. Reinsert the dipstick.
6. Attach "negative" wire to the battery.
7. Start the engine and let it run until the oil pressure warning light goes out.
8. Stop the engine. Check the oil level again.
