Special tool


Fuel pressure measuring device 310-116-01Fuel Pressure Gauge Adapter 310-116 (LRT-19-006A)

NOTE: This procedure only checks the high pressure pump discharge line pressure.


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

2. Remove the engine cover. Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)

3. Remove the Schrader valve dust cap.

4. Install the special tool on the Schrader valves on the fuel manifold.

CAUTION: Do not carry or use a cell phone when working with any fuel-related parts or in the immediate vicinity of such parts. There is a risk of ignition of highly flammable vapors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.


CAUTION: Do not smoke or carry a lighted cigarette or open flame of any type when working on or near fuel-related components. There is a risk of ignition of flammable vapors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.




CAUTION: Some fuel will inevitably spill during this operation. Make sure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and explosion.


Start the engine and let it run.
  • Open the valve on the special tool.
  • Record the fuel pressure.
6. For the required fuel pressure value, see the technical specifications.

7. Close the valve on the special tool.

8. Remove the special tool from the Schrader valve.

9. Place the dust cap on the Schrader valve.

10. Install the engine cover. Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)

11. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
