Rear bottom spar (Range Rover 3)

The rear bottom side member can also be replaced as a unit with the longitudinal floor panel.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the generator.

3. Remove the spare wheel well heat shield.

Repair works

1. Remove damaged panels, prepare joint edges and install new panels in accordance with the Body Panel Repair Rules. Punch or drill holes in the panel to be installed for the plug weld, as shown in the figure.

The side member should be cut behind the point indicated by arrow A. Cutting the side member before this point will weaken the body frame.

Assembly

1. Reinstall the spare wheel well heat shield.



2. Connect the generator.

3. Connect the negative battery terminal.
