Front seat cushion upholstery (with upper backrest adjustment) (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling


1. Remove the seat assembly.

SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Front seat.


2. Remove the switch block.

3. Remove the screw securing the cover on the inside of the seat base and remove the cover.

4. Release the 3 seat back panel tensioner straps under the seat.


4. Release the 3 seat back panel tensioner straps under the seat.

5. Remove the 2 screws securing the lower decorative trim of the backrest.


5. Remove the 2 screws securing the lower decorative trim of the backrest.

6. Release the lower cover from the 6 fasteners and remove it.

7. Disconnect the 2 tension cords from the upper part of the seat back upholstery.


7. Disconnect the 2 tension cords from the upper part of the seat back upholstery.



8. Release the Velcro tape securing the backrest upholstery.

9. Remove the trim from the backrest upholstery trim.


9. Remove the trim from the backrest upholstery trim.

10. Release the cover from the 4 fasteners and remove it.

11. Carefully remove the 2 fasteners securing the headrest to the electric motor housing.


11. Carefully remove the 2 fasteners securing the headrest to the electric motor housing.

12. Remove the headrest.

13. Release the strap securing the seat back upholstery to the lower frame.


13. Release the strap securing the seat back upholstery to the lower frame.



14. Disconnect the connectors from the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motors.


14. Disconnect the connectors from the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motors.

15. Disconnect the lumbar support cable connector from the pump and valve.


15. Disconnect the lumbar support cable connector from the pump and valve.

16. Disconnect the connector block from the seat heater cable.


16. Disconnect the connector block from the seat heater cable.

17. Release the 2 straps securing both sides of the lower seat back trim to the frame.



18. Release the wiring harness from the 4 clamps.

19. Remove the 2 Torx screws securing the backrest frame to the seat frame.

20. Remove the backrest assembly from the seat frame.

21. Separate the seat cushion trim panel from the side and front parts of the frame.

22. Remove the seat upholstery and cushion from the frame.

23. Release the 15 rings securing the upholstery to the cushion and remove the upholstery.


23. Release the 15 rings securing the upholstery to the cushion and remove the upholstery.

Assembly


1. Place the upholstery on the cushion and secure it with 15 rings.

2. Install and secure the cushion with upholstery on the frame.

3. Install the backrest assembly onto the seat.

4. Align the backrest frame with the seat frame, install the Torx screws and tighten them to 25 Nm.

5. Install the fixing straps to the sides of the bottom of the backrest upholstery.



6. Connect the connector to the seat heater connector.

7. Secure the backrest cables to the clips.

8. Connect the lumbar support cable connectors to the pump and valve.

9. Connect the cable connectors to the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motor connectors.

10. Fasten the strap securing the lower part of the backrest upholstery to the frame.

11. Install the headrest and secure it to the motor housing.

12. Install the top cover and secure it with the clips.

13. Attach the back upholstery trim to the overlay.

14. Fasten the Velcro to the backrest upholstery.

15. Attach 2 tension cords to the upper part of the backrest upholstery.

16. Install the bottom cover and secure it with the clips.

17. Tighten the screws securing the lower backrest trim.

18. Attach the backrest panel tension straps to the fasteners on the bottom of the seat.

19. Install the seat base cover and secure it with screws.

20. Install the switch block.

21. Install the seat in the vehicle.
