Dismantling


1. Remove the battery support plate.

ENGINE STARTING AND BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Platform - battery.


2. Remove the front wheel arch liner.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Mudguard - front wheel arch.


3. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.

COOLING SYSTEM: Td6, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE, Draining the coolant, flushing the system and filling.


4. Place a container to collect any leaking coolant.

5. Loosen the clamps and remove the inlet and outlet hoses from the FBH heater.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the heater hoses and fittings to prevent dirt from entering the system.

7. Remove the 2 screws securing the heater to the support.

NOTE: If disassembly was performed only to provide access to other system components, no further disassembly operations should be performed.


9. Remove the 3 screws securing the heater to the support.

10. Remove the support.

11. Cut and discard the clamp securing the intake filter to the heater. Release the retainer and remove the intake assembly.

Assembly


1. Install the receiving unit and secure the clamps.

2. Install the heater support and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

3. Connect the pads to the heater connectors.

4. Align the heater outlet pipe with the engine exhaust system, install the heater on the support and tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 10 N·m.

5. Connect the cooling system hoses to the heater and secure them with clamps.

6. Connect the fuel supply hose to the heater and secure it with clamps.

7. Fill the engine with coolant.

8. Reinstall the front wheel arch liner.
