Drain
1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
2. Set the heater control handle to the maximum interior heating position.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Remove the upper engine cover.

5. Place a container to collect any leaking coolant.
6. Remove the expansion tank cap. CAUTION: Do not remove the cap when the engine is hot to avoid being burned by steam or coolant.

7. Attach the hose to the drain valve.
8. Open the drain valve and drain the liquid into a container.
CAUTION: Coolant can damage paintwork. If coolant comes into contact with painted surfaces, remove any traces of the liquid immediately and rinse the area with water.

9. Remove the cooling system drain plug from the cylinder block. Discard the sealing washer.
10. Collect the coolant in a container.
Filling
1. Wipe the drain plug and the mating surface on the cylinder block.
2. Take a new sealing washer, screw the drain plug into the cylinder block and tighten it to a torque of 25 N·m.
3. Close the radiator drain cock and remove the hose.
4. Cover the generator to prevent liquid from spilling on it.
CAUTION: Avoid spilling oil or liquid on the generator.

5. Remove the screw from the drain hole in the expansion tank.
6. Remove the drain screws from the water distribution pipe and from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) heat exchanger.
7. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
8. Tighten the screws when a continuous stream of liquid appears from the drain holes in the water distribution pipe and EGR heat exchanger.
9. Remove the cover from the generator.
10. Connect the negative battery terminal.
11. Place the exhaust hose onto the exhaust pipe.
12. Start the engine, bleed the cooling system and warm up the engine to operating temperature.
13. If a continuous stream of liquid appears from the drainage hole of the expansion tank, screw the screw into it and tighten it.
14. Inspect the engine and cooling system components to ensure there are no leaks.
15. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
16. Wipe the liquid from the body surface and surrounding surfaces.
17. Reinstall the upper engine cover.

18. Top up the coolant to the required level.
