CAUTION: Never remove the coolant expansion tank cap when the system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the cap could cause serious injury, such as scalding.
1. Place the car on a lift.
2. Set the heater controls to maximum.
3. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Specification.
4. Remove the engine cover. Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

CAUTION: Never remove the coolant expansion tank cap when the system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the cap could cause serious injury, such as scalding.
Remove the coolant expansion tank cap.
6. Remove the left front mudguard. Remove the 4 clips.

7. Remove the panel covering access to the radiator. Unscrew 4 bolts.

8. Place a container to collect any spilled liquid.

CAUTION: Coolant may damage paintwork if it comes into contact with it. If coolant is spilled, wipe it off immediately and rinse the area with water.
Release the clamp, remove the lower radiator hose and allow the coolant to drain.

10. Remove the spare wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the tool kit.
- Gain access to the winch.
12. Disconnect the rear heater coolant hoses.
- Release the 2 clamps.
- Allow the coolant to drain.

13. Connect the rear heater coolant hoses. Secure the clamps.
14. Install the spare wheel and tire assembly. Put away the tool kit.
15. Connect and secure the lower radiator hose. Secure with a clamp.
16. Connect the ground cable to the battery. Specification.
17. Place the exhaust hoses onto the exhaust pipes.
18. Loosen the screw to bleed air from the coolant expansion tank.

19. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
20. Start the engine and let it run.
- Maintain engine speed at 2500 rpm for 30 seconds.
- Let the engine idle for 30 seconds.
- Repeat the above procedure 4 more times.

NOTE: After bleeding the cooling system and before tightening the expansion tank cap, add coolant to the expansion tank until the level is 30 mm above the upper mark.
Install the expansion tank cap.
23. Let the engine run until the thermostat opens.
24. Turn off the engine and let it cool.
25. Install the engine cover. Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)
26. Clean the chassis and surrounding area from any remaining coolant.
27. Install the radiator access panel. Tighten the 4 bolts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).
28. Install the left front mudguard.
29. Check the coolant level and top up if necessary.
