2. Set the heater controls to maximum.

21. Fill the cooling system.
22. Tighten the air bleed screws (tightening torque 14 Nm).
23. Fill the cooling system, maintaining the coolant level in the expansion tank at the upper mark until a steady stream of coolant returns to the tank.

NOTE: After bleeding the cooling system and before installing the expansion tank cap, add coolant to the expansion tank until the level is 30 mm above the upper mark.
Install the expansion tank cap.

CAUTION: Relieve the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the expansion tank cap a quarter turn. Cover the expansion tank cap with a thick cloth to prevent scalding. Failure to do so may result in personal injury.
Start the engine and let it run.
- Maintain the crankshaft speed at 3000 rpm for one minute.
- Let the engine idle for five minutes.
- Maintain the crankshaft speed at 3000 rpm for one minute.
- Let the engine run until the thermostat opens.
- Remove the expansion tank cap, allow the float to settle, and add coolant if necessary. Install the cap.
