Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Remove the lower protective cover.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine protection - front.
3. Remove the top engine cover.
ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.
4. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air hose from the exhaust gas bypass valve (EGR). Remove and discard clamp.
5. Move the hose to the side.
6. Release a hose of system of cooling from a casing of the fan.
ATTENTION: The core of the radiator is easily vulnerable. Do not allow the frame to be damaged by the fan or fan shroud.
7. Disconnect the connector and harness from the additional cooling fan from the fan shroud.
8. Remove 2 tabs from the top of the fan shroud and one tab from the bottom.
9. Lift the fan shroud to release the tabs from the heatsink. Slide the shroud towards the engine to gain access to the viscous coupling nut.
NOTE: If disassembly was carried out only to provide access to other elements of the system, then further disassembly operations should not be performed.
10. Using tools LRT-12-094 and LRT-12-214, loosen the viscous fan clutch nut and remove the fan assembly from the coolant pump.
NOTE: This thread is left handed.
11. Remove the cooling fan.
12. Remove the fan guard.
13. Turn away 4 bolts and remove the fan from the viscous coupling.
Assembly
1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the fan and coupling.
2. Put the fan on the viscous coupling and tighten the 4 bolts. Tightening torque 10 Nm.
3. Slide the fan shroud onto the heatsink, but do not secure it yet.
4. Mount the fan on the pulley and tighten the viscous coupling nut to 45 Nm.
5. Install and secure the fan shroud to the heatsink.
6. Secure the fan shroud with the clips.
7. Attach the harness and connector to the casing.
8. Fix in a clip a hose of system of cooling.
9. Wipe the pipe on the exhaust gas bypass valve (EGR) and the counterpart of the intake hose.
10. Using a new clamp, secure the air inlet hose to the exhaust gas bypass valve (EGR). Clamp tightening torque 6 Nm.
11. After waiting 10 minutes, re-tighten the air hose-to-valve clamp. Tightening torque 6 Nm.
12. Replace the top engine cover.
ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.
13. Replace the bottom guard.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine protection - front.
14. Attach the negative plug to the storage battery.
