Dismantling


1. Drain the working fluid from the transfer case.

TRANSFER CASE, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining and filling the working fluid.


2. Remove the front propeller shaft.

DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORK, Cardan shaft - front.


3. For diesel engine models only: Remove the vibration damper.

4. Remove the pin securing the output shaft flange nut.

5. Using the LRT-51-003 tool, hold the shaft flange from turning, loosen the nut and remove the…


5. Using the LRT-51-003 tool, hold the shaft flange from turning, loosen the nut and remove the flange from the shaft. Discard the nut and remove and discard the sealing ring.

6. Remove the oil seal from the transfer case housing.

Assembly


1. Clean the groove for the oil seal in the transfer case housing.

2. Using the LRT-41-020 tool, install the oil seal into the transfer case housing.

3. Clean the shaft flange and shaft mating surfaces.

4. Install a new sealing ring, fit the flange and tighten the mounting nut to 100 Nm.

5. Install the pin that locks the flange mounting nut.

6. Install the front propeller shaft.

7. For diesel models only: Reinstall the vibration damper.

TRANSFER CASE, REPAIR WORK, Vibration damper - Td6.


8. Fill the transfer case with working fluid.
