Description
The welded steel rear axle housing contains the differential (with bevel gears with spiral curved teeth), which is installed offset to the right of the vehicle's centerline. The differential, using half-shafts and fully floating hubs mounted on tapered roller bearings, drives the rear wheels.
Lubrication
The differential is lubricated with oil, and the hub bearings are lubricated with consistent grease.
The hub bearings are equipped with internal and external seals. The external seals prevent the differential oil from mixing with the hub grease, and the internal seals prevent dirt from entering the hub.
Ventilation
Ventilation of the hub bearings is achieved through external oil seals and a differential ventilation line that terminates at high level.
