Bleeding the power steering (Range Rover 3)

Checking the working fluid level

1. Clean any dirt from around the power steering reservoir cap and level marks.



2. Check the condition of the working fluid. If there are air bubbles, wait until they disappear, then add the recommended working fluid to the "UPPER" level mark.

3. Replace the tank lid.

Bleeding air from the hydraulic system

1. Remove the power steering reservoir cap and add the recommended working fluid to the "UPPER" level mark. Working fluid should always be in the power steering reservoir when bleeding air.

2. Start the engine and let it idle for 10 seconds. Stop the engine.

3. Add working fluid to the tank to the upper level.



4. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and right positions. Stop the engine.

5. Add working fluid to the tank to the upper level.

6. Start the engine and let it run for 2 minutes, turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and right positions.

CAUTION: Do not leave the steering wheel in the lock position for more than 10 seconds.
