Examination

1. Turn off the engine.



2. Check the condition of the working fluid. If there are air bubbles, wait until they disappear, then add the recommended working fluid to the "UPPER" level mark.

3. Replace the tank lid.

Adjustment

1. Clean any dirt from around the power steering reservoir cap and level marks.

2. Remove the cap from the reservoir and add Dexron II D working fluid up to the "UPPER" mark. When removing air, there must be working fluid in the power steering reservoir.

3. Start the engine and let it idle for 10 seconds. Turn off the engine.

4. Add working fluid to the tank to the upper level.

5. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and right positions. Turn off the engine.

CAUTION: Do not leave the steering wheel in the lock position for more than 10 seconds.

6. Add working fluid to the tank to the upper level.

7. Start the engine and let it run for 2 minutes, turn the steering wheel to the extreme left and right positions.
