Examination
1. Move the selector lever to position "P".
2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
3. Check that the selector lever cannot be moved from the "P" position.
4. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to position "II".
5. Press the brake pedal and check that the selector lever can be moved from the "P" position. Also check that the key cannot be removed from the ignition switch. The key can only be turned to an intermediate position between the "I" and "0" positions.
Adjustment
1. Move the selector lever to position "P".
2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
3. Remove the front console.

4. Loosen the cable clamp mounting bolt.
5. Move the cable away from the locking mechanism. Move the cable until you feel resistance from the spring. Adjust the position of the cable if it can be removed without compressing the spring. After making the adjustment, tighten the ignition lock cable clamp screw to 6 Nm.
6. Check the operation of the cable.
7. Reinstall the front console.
