Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover, if equipped.
ENGINE - Td4, Intake and Exhaust Camshafts, Engine Soundproofing, Models up to May 2002.
3. Models with Td4 engine: Loosen and remove the air intake.
DIESEL ENGINE FUEL SUPPLY, REPAIR WORKS, Intake system air ducts.
4. Models with Td4 engine: Loosen the 2 clamps and remove the intercooler outlet hose.
5. Models with Td4 engine: Remove the dipstick for easier access.
CAUTION: Always plug fittings and openings to keep dirt out of the system.
6. Turn away a bolt of fastening of the bottom arm of the pipeline of a cooler of working liquid of a steering hydraulic booster to a body.
7. Turn away a bolt of fastening of the pipeline of a cooler of working liquid of a steering hydraulic booster to the right rack of a suspension bracket.
8. Place a suitable container under the power steering reservoir, release the clamp and disconnect the return hose. Let the working fluid drain.
9. Place a container under the hose quick connector.
10. Clean any dirt around the hose quick coupling.
11. Using tool LRT-57-044, disconnect the coolant hose quick connector.
12. Remove the power steering reservoir from the support bracket and move it aside.
13. Remove the power steering fluid cooler from the vehicle.
NOTE: If disassembly was carried out only to provide access to other elements of the system, then further disassembly operations should not be performed.
14. Remove the clamps from the cooler.
Installation
1. Clean the fluid cooler mounting points.
2. Install the clamps on the cooler.
3. Install the cooler on the vehicle.
4. Connect the hose quick connector.
5. Install the pipeline bracket, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.
6. Screw in the pipe clamp bolt to the right suspension strut and tighten it with a torque of 10 Nm.
7. Install the power steering reservoir on the support bracket.
8. Clear a place around a cover of a reservoir of the hydraulic booster and tags of level from a dirt.
9. Connect a return hose to a tank and tighten a collar of its fastening.
10. Models with Td4 engine: Connect the intercooler outlet hose and tighten the hose clamps.
11. Models with Td4 engine: Install the air intake and intake pipe assembly to the body.
DIESEL ENGINE FUEL SUPPLY, REPAIR WORKS, Intake air ducts.
12. Models with Td4 engine: Reinsert the dipstick.
13. Install the engine soundproofing cover, if equipped.
ENGINE - Td4, Intake and Exhaust Camshafts, Engine Soundproofing, Models up to May 2002.
14. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
15. Bleed the power steering system.
