Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover, if present.
ENGINE - Td4, Inlet and outlet camshafts, Engine soundproofing casing, models produced before May 2002.
3. Models with Td4 engine: Loosen and remove the air intake.
DIESEL ENGINE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Air intake system ducts.
4. Td4 engine models: Loosen the 2 clamps and remove the intercooler outlet hose.
5. Models with Td4 engine: For easier access, remove the dipstick.
CAUTION: Always plug the fittings and holes to protect the system from dirt.

6. Loosen the bolt securing the lower bracket of the power steering fluid cooler pipe to the body.

7. Loosen the bolt securing the power steering fluid cooler line to the right suspension strut.

8. Place a suitable container under the power steering reservoir, loosen the clamp and disconnect the return hose. Allow the working fluid to drain.
9. Place a container under the hose quick-release coupling.
10. Clean any dirt from the area around the hose quick-release connection.

11. Using the LRT-57-044 tool, disconnect the coolant hose quick-release coupling.
12. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir from the support bracket and set it aside.
13. Remove the power steering fluid cooler from the vehicle.
NOTE: If disassembly was performed only to provide access to other system components, no further disassembly operations should be performed.

14. Remove the clamps from the cooler.
Installation
1. Clean the mounting locations of the working fluid cooler.
2. Install the clamps on the cooler.
3. Install the cooler on the vehicle.
4. Connect the quick-release hose coupling.

5. Install the pipeline bracket, tighten the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.
6. Tighten the bolt of the pipe clamp to the right suspension strut and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm.
7. Install the power steering fluid reservoir onto the support bracket.
8. Clean any dirt from around the power steering reservoir cap and level marks.
9. Connect the return hose to the tank and tighten the clamp.
10. Models with Td4 engine: Connect the intercooler outlet hose and tighten the hose clamps.
11. Models with Td4 engine: Install the air intake and intake pipe assembly to the body.
DIESEL ENGINE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Air intake system ducts.
12. Models with Td4 engine: Reinstall the dipstick.
13. Install the engine soundproofing cover, if equipped.

14. Connect the negative battery terminal.
15. Bleed the power steering system.
