Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the engine mount.

3. Loosen the 3 bolts securing the power steering pump drive pulley.

4. Remove the accessory drive belt.

5. Raise the engine on a lift.

6. Loosen the bolts and remove the power steering pump drive pulley.

7. Cover the generator to prevent it from being exposed to working fluid.

8. Place a container under the power steering pump, loosen the clamp and disconnect the supply hose from the pump. Let the working fluid drain.

CAUTION: Avoid spilling oil or liquid on the generator.

9. Unscrew the hollow bolt securing the outlet hose to the pump. Disconnect the hose, remove and discard the sealing washers.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.

10. Remove 4 bolts and power steering pump.

11. Remove the 5 Torx head bolts that secure the power steering pump to the support brackets. Assemble the support brackets.

Installation

1. Install the support brackets on the power steering pump, install the Torx head bolts and tighten them to 25 Nm.

2. Install the power steering pump and tighten the bolts. Tighten the M8 bolts to 25 Nm and the M6 bolts to 10 Nm.

3. Using new sealing washers, connect the outlet hose to the power steering pump, install the hollow bolt and tighten it to 25 Nm.

4. Wipe the power steering pump and hose attachment points.

5. Connect the inlet hose to the power steering pump and secure it with a new clamp.

6. Install the pump drive pulley onto the power steering pump and tighten the bolts by hand.

7. Install the accessory drive belt.
