Dismantling
1. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
PASSIVE SAFETY SYSTEMS, REPAIR WORK, Driver's airbag.

2. Disconnect the rotary contactor assembly connector block.
3. Turn the steering wheel to the position corresponding to the straight-ahead movement of the vehicle.
4. Fix the steering wheel and loosen the self-locking nut securing it to the steering shaft.
5. Remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft splines.
6. Unscrew and discard the self-locking nut.
7. Remove the steering wheel.

8. To maintain the correct position of the rotary contactor, stick adhesive tape along its contour.

9. Models with Td4 engine: Loosen the 3 vibration damper mounting screws and remove the vibration damper.

10. Using a tool with a rounded edge, carefully remove the horn switches from the steering wheel.
11. Having previously memorized the location, disconnect the 2 "Lucar" type terminals and remove the horn switch.
12. Repeat this operation for the other horn switch.

13. Disconnect the multi-pin electrical connectors from the steering wheel controls for the cruise control (if equipped) and the audio system.
14. Release the electrical wiring from the clips and remove it.
15. Models equipped with cruise control: Remove the 2 screws securing the cruise control controls to the steering wheel.
16. Models equipped with cruise control: Remove the cruise control controls from the steering wheel.
17. Remove the 2 screws securing the audio system controls to the steering wheel.
18. Remove the audio system controls from the steering wheel.
Installation
1. Install the audio controls onto the steering wheel and secure them with screws.
2. Models equipped with cruise control: Install the cruise control controls to the steering wheel and secure them with screws.
3. Connect the wiring to the horn, cruise control (if equipped) and audio system controls and secure it to the clips.
4. Install the horn switch and connect the Lucar type terminals.
5. Repeat this operation for the other horn switch.
6. Connect the multi-pin electrical connectors to the cruise control and audio system controls.
7. Models with Td4 engine: Install the vibration damper and secure it with screws.
8. Remove the adhesive tape from the rotary contactor.
9. Make sure that the wheels are set in the position corresponding to the straight-ahead movement of the vehicle and that the turn signal switch cams are in the horizontal position.
10. Install the steering wheel on the steering shaft so that the steering wheel spokes are horizontal.
11. Install the new steering wheel self-locking nut and tighten it to 45 Nm.
12. Connect the multi-pin connector of the rotary contactor assembly.
13. Install the driver's airbag.
