Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle.
CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.

3. Loosen the power steering pump drive pulley mounting bolt.
4. Remove the power steering pump drive belt.
STEERING, REPAIR WORK, Drive belt (for models with K1.8 engine).
5. Place a container underneath to collect the power steering fluid.

6. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the inlet hose from the power steering pump.
CAUTION: Always plug the fittings and holes to protect the system from dirt.
7. Loosen the exhaust pipe fastening, disconnect the pipe, remove and discard the sealing ring.
8. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the power steering pump drive pulley to the power steering pump and remove the pulley.
9. Unscrew the 5 bolts securing the power steering pump to the support bracket.
10. Remove the power steering pump.
Installation
1. Attach the power steering pump to the support bracket.
2. Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to the support bracket and tighten them to 25 Nm.
3. Install the power steering pump drive pulley by aligning the bolt holes. Make sure the pulley is facing the side marked "FRONT". Install the bolts and tighten them by hand.
4. Remove the plug from the outlet hose.
5. Clean the power steering pump and the pipe fitting.
6. Using a new sealing ring, connect the outlet hose and tighten the coupling to a torque of 20 Nm.
7. Clean any dirt from the place where the inlet hose is attached to the power steering pump.
8. Remove the plug from the inlet hose, put a new clamp on it and connect the hose to the pump.
9. Remove the container for collecting the working fluid.
10. Clean the pulley groove and the tension roller raceway from dirt.
11. Install the power steering pump drive belt.
STEERING, REPAIR WORK, Drive belt (for models with K1.8 engine).
12. Tighten the power steering pump drive pulley mounting bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
13. Connect the negative battery terminal.
14. Bleed the power steering system.
