15. Remove the fan shroud fasteners.
16. Remove the fan shroud from the radiator.
17. Install tool LRT-12-216 on engine mounting tabs.
18. Attach the chain to the engine mounting brackets and tension the chain with the weight of the engine.
19. Remove the nut on the left engine mount.
20. Remove the right engine mount nut.
21. Raise the engine, separating it from the supports.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the radiator, support and prevent the fan shroud from coming into contact with the radiator as it will rise with the engine.
22. Remove the connector block of the steering angle sensor.
23. Mark position of the lower part of a steering column. Turn out the screw of the bottom hinge of a steering column and disconnect a steering column from a steering reducer. Discard the fixing screw.
CAUTION: Do not turn the steering wheel when the intermediate shaft or universal joint is disconnected as this will damage the rotating slip ring and steering wheel controls.
24. Mark the position of the clips and remove the clips securing the cable of the front body position sensors to the subframe of the car, and remove the sensors. Disconnect the connectors for the front level sensors.
25. Remove the 2 nuts securing each anti-roll bar heat shield to the body and 2 bolts securing each heat shield to the subframe. Remove heat shields.
26. Support the subframe with a jack.
27. Remove 2 screws securing the subframe to the cross member and 6 screws securing the subframe to the vehicle body. Discard the screws.
28. Together with an assistant, lower and remove the subframe assembly.
29. Remember the position of the pressure and drain pipelines, unscrew the bolts securing the fittings and remove the pipelines. Remove o-rings.
CAUTION: Always plug fittings and openings to keep dirt out of the system.
30. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts of the steering gear assembly and discard the bolts and nuts.
NOTE: Do not further disassemble if a component is being removed only for ease of access.
31. Loosen the locknuts of the tie rod ends and remove the ball joints. Remember the number of turns on the thread so as not to make a mistake when assembling. Discard retaining rings.
32. Remove the locknuts of the tie rod ends.
Assembly
1. Screw the lock nuts onto the ends of the tie rods.
2. Fit the circlips on the ends of the tie rods so that the conical part of the ring faces the conical band of the tie rod.
3. Screw the tie rod ends onto the tie rods by turning them the number of revolutions recorded during removal.
4. Install the steering gear assembly and tighten the new bolts and nuts with a tightening torque of 100 N·m, then tighten the nuts by 90°.
5. Clean the fittings and connection surfaces from dirt.
6. Install new O-rings and connect the pipe fittings by tightening the M16 screw with a torque of 40 Nm, and the M14 screw with a torque of 36 Nm.
7. Clean the mating surfaces of the subframe and car body.
8. Together with an assistant, install the subframe assembly.
9. Screw in new screws and tighten the 6 screws securing the subframe to the body with a torque of 165 Nm, then tighten the two rear screws by another 90°. Tighten the bolts securing the subframe to the cross beam with a torque of 132.5 Nm.
10. Install anti-roll bar heat shields and tighten fasteners.
11. Lower the engine onto stands.
NOTE: When lowering the engine, guide the fan shroud into position.
12. Attach the fan shroud to the heatsink by installing the retainers.
13. Install the screw that secures the fan shroud to the heatsink.
14. Wrap 2 nuts of fastening of the engine on support and tighten them with the moment of 100 Н·м.
15. Disconnect the lift chain.
16. Remove the engine mounting tabs.
17. Attach the lower end of the steering shaft to the steering gearbox gear shaft, making sure that the mounting marks match.
18. Establish a new screw of fastening of the hinge of a steering shaft and tighten it with the moment of 24 Нм.
19. Connect block to a socket of the gauge of an angle of rotation of a steering shaft.
20. Attach blocks of electric sockets of forward gauges of vertical position of a body.
21. Route the sensor cables and secure them with the clamps in their original position.
22. Wipe the mating surfaces of the pump and high pressure piping free of dirt.
23. Install a new sealing ring on the end of the pipeline, connect the pipeline to the pump and tighten the high pressure union nut to a torque of 25 Nm.
24. Attach the low pressure pipeline to the steering fluid cooler.
