NOTE: If the steering is sluggish or there is contamination in the power steering system, the system flush procedure should be followed as detailed below. If any items have been replaced in the power steering system, the procedure described below must be completed in its entirety.
1. Remove the power steering reservoir cap.
2. Use a syringe to remove the power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Loosen but do not remove the power steering reservoir.
- Disconnect the power steering return hose from the reservoir.
3. Using a suitable plug, close the power steering reservoir return line.
4. Connect a suitable tube to the power steering return hose to drain the fluid.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Be sure to place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not start the engine to avoid damage to the power steering system.
Turn the steering wheel 10 times from lock to lock. Allow liquid to drain.
7. Flush the power steering system.
- Pour approximately 0.5 liters of working fluid into the power steering reservoir.
- Turn the steering wheel 10 times from lock to lock.
- Allow liquid to drain.
- Repeat the above procedure if necessary.
8. Install the power steering reservoir.
- Remove the plug and discard it.
- Install the power steering reservoir return hose.
9. Add power steering fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. Filling and bleeding the power steering system.
10. Reinstall the filler cap.
