Lubrication system (Range Rover 3)

General information

The lubrication system of the engine and other units is filled with high-quality oil with an extended replacement interval.

CAUTION: Use only high-quality oil with the recommended viscosity index to fill the engine lubrication system. Using oil that does not meet the specified requirements will result in increased oil and fuel consumption, and ultimately cause engine failure.

The recommended grades of oil contain additives that neutralize acids formed during fuel combustion and prevent the formation of coke that clogs oil channels. It is prohibited to add additional additives to the oil.

Always follow recommended oil change intervals.

Viscosity of motor oil

The above chart is used to select oil based on ambient temperature.

Motor oil Td6

Use only synthetic oils with a viscosity grade of 5W/30, 5W/40, 5W/50 or 10W/40 depending on your climate and meeting ACEA A3/B3 standards.

V8 Engine Oil

Use only synthetic oils with a viscosity grade of 0W/30, 0W/40, 5W/30 or 5W/40 depending on your climate and meeting ACEA A3/B3 standards.; (aPI standards: SJ/CD, ECII for USA and Canada).

Special fluid for automatic transmission GM

Use only Texaco ETL-7045E fluid.

Special fluid for automatic transmission ZF

Use only Esso ATF LT 71141 special fluid.

Transfer case

Use only Castrol BOT 26 FMB 1 oil

Front and rear gearboxes

Use only Castrol SAF-X0 oil.

Power steering

Use only Texaco Cold Climate PSF 14315 special hydraulic fluid.

Air conditioner

Use only Nippon Denso ND-8 special oil.

General purpose greases

For lubrication, use NLGI general purpose grease (lithium based) viscosity No.2.

Composition for processing interior trim

To prevent creaking of plastic panels, rubber and leather interior trim elements, use special compound CYK100050L/CYK100070L.

Hood lock

Lubricate the drive cable and lock mechanism with engine oil.

Locks, hinges and fasteners

To lubricate door locks and latches, use special lubricant CYL 100020.

Wheel speed sensor lubrication

Use special grease. Front sensor - SSF 000010. Rear sensor - SSF 000020.

NOTE: Grease is only supplied with the wheel speed sensor.

General Purpose Cleaner:

• 400 ml - item number STC 50544
