CAUTION: Use only high-quality oil with the recommended viscosity index to fill the engine lubrication system. Using oil that does not meet the specified requirements will result in increased oil and fuel consumption and will eventually cause engine failure.
The recommended grades of oil contain additives that neutralize acids formed during fuel combustion and prevent the formation of coke that clogs oil channels. It is prohibited to add additional additives to the oil.
Always follow recommended oil change intervals.
Motor oil
The table below shows oil viscosity and temperature ranges.
Engine oil - Td4 engine
Use only synthetic oils with viscosity grade 0W/30, 5W/40, 5W/50 or 10W/30, 40, 60 depending on your climate and meeting ACEA A3/B3 standards. If it is not possible to use motor oils meeting this European specification, oils meeting US API SH quality standards should be used.
Engine oil - engine K1.8
Use 10W/40 oil that meets ACEA A2 or A3 specification.

Engine Oil - KV6 Engine - Except North American Models
Use 10W/40 oil that meets ACEA A2 or A3 specification.
Motor Oil - KV6 Engine - North American Vehicle Models
Use fully synthetic 5W/40 oil that meets the ACEA A3 specification. If it is not possible to use motor oils that meet this European specification, oils that meet the US API SH quality standards should be used.
Gearbox oil and working fluid
Using oils and fluids other than those recommended may cause serious damage to the transmission.
Manual gearboxes - PG1 and Getrag
Use OPEL B 0400063 oil for replacement and topping up.
Automatic transmission JATCO
Use Texaco N402 working fluid for replacement and topping up.
Intermediate reduction gear
Synthetic oil Texaco S5 75W90 or equivalent in characteristics, meeting API GL5 standards.
Rear differential and final drive
Multigear 80W/90 ETL oil meets API GL5 standards.
Gearbox Rods - Manual Gearbox
Use a grease containing 3% molybdenum disulfide.
General purpose greases
For lubrication, use NLGI #2 viscosity general purpose grease (lithium based).
Hood lock
Lubricate the drive cable and lock mechanism with engine oil.
