Removal
1.
WARNING: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Air Filter Outlet Pipe (303-12 Distribution and filtration of intake air - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, Removal and installation).
3. Disconnect the charge air cooler inlet hose. Release the clamp.

4. Disconnect the turbocharger electrical connector.

5. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. Remove the 5 bolts.

6. Remove and discard the 4 catalytic converter nuts.

7. Remove and discard the 4 catalytic converter studs.

8. Release the catalytic converter. Unscrew and discard the 2 nuts.

9. Release the catalytic converter. Loosen the 4 bolts.

10. Remove the catalytic converter bracket. Unscrew the bolt.

CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.
Disconnect the turbocharger oil supply line.
- Remove the hollow bolt.
- Remove the sealing washers and discard them as no longer needed.

12.
CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.
Release the turbocharger oil drain pipe.
- Remove two bolts.
- Remove the gasket and dispose of it.

13. Unscrew the 3 turbocharger nuts and tighten them.

14.
CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.
Remove the turbocharger.
- Remove the pin and discard it.
- Remove the gasket and dispose of it.

15.
NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed only for access.
Remove the turbocharger intake duct. Remove the two bolts.

Installation
1. Install the turbocharger intake duct. Tighten (tightening torque 23 Nm).

2.
NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.
Install the turbocharger.
- Install a new gasket.
- Install new studs.

3. Install new turbocharger nuts. Tighten the nut (tightening torque 23 Nm).

NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.
Secure the turbocharger oil return line.
- Install a new gasket.
- Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

5.
NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.
Connect the turbocharger oil supply line.
- Install new sealing washers.
- Tighten the hollow bolt to 35 Nm.

6. Install the catalytic converter bracket. Screw in the bolt, but do not tighten it.

7. Install 4 new studs onto the catalytic converter.

8. Install 4 new nuts onto the catalytic converter. Tighten (tightening torque 45 Nm).

9. Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm).

10. Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm).

11. Install new nuts. Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm).

12. Tighten (tightening torque 20 Nm).

13. Install the turbocharger heat shield. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).

14. Connect the turbocharger electrical connector.

15. Tighten (tightening torque 3 Nm).

16. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe.
