Anti-roll bar struts (Range Rover 3)

During this procedure, the position of the front wheels should correspond to the straight-line movement of the vehicle.

Dismantling

1. Raise the front of the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported solely by a jack or lift. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.

2. Remove the wheel.



3. Unscrew the nut securing the anti-roll bar to the anti-roll bar.

CAUTION: Use a socket wrench to prevent the ball joint from rotating.

4. Disconnect the strut from the stabilizer bar.



5. Loosen the nut securing the anti-roll bar to the shock absorber.
6. Remove the stabilizer bar and the washer installed on the upper ball joint.

CAUTION: Mark the location of the washer for subsequent installation.

Assembly

1. Install the washer on the ball joint, install the stabilizer bar link, install the nuts and tighten them to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

CAUTION: The hardened washer must be installed in the same position it was in before removal.

2. Reinstall the wheel and tighten the nuts to 140 N·m (103 lb ft).

3. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
