Crankshaft pulley (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removal


1. Place the vehicle on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt.

ENGINE STARTING AND BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Attachment drive belt - V8 engine.


4. Remove the fan with viscous coupling.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Viscous fan clutch.


5. Remove the compressor drive belt.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Compressor drive belt - V8 engine.


6. Unscrew the 8 bolts securing the pulley to the crankshaft hub.


6. Unscrew the 8 bolts securing the pulley to the crankshaft hub.

7. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

Installation


1. Install the pulley onto the crankshaft hub so that the locating pin fits into the hole.

2. Install 8 new pulley-to-hub bolts and tighten them to 22 Nm.

3. Install the compressor drive belt.

4. Install the fan with viscous coupling.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Viscous fan clutch.




5. Install the accessory drive belt.

6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
