Emergency shutdown unit activation
WARNING: Before carrying out work on passive safety systems, it is necessary to carefully read the relevant technical documentation.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with passive safety systems.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Safety precautions when working with the airbag system (SRS).
2. Remove the battery emergency disconnect unit from the vehicle.
RESTRAINT SYSTEMS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGERS, REPAIR WORK, Battery - Emergency Shut-off Unit (sRS system).
3. Check the condition of the LRT-86-003 device and the cables supplied with it.

4. Clamp the LRT-86-007/02 bracket in a vice. The vice should clamp the bracket above the lower flange to prevent the bracket from moving upward under the influence of detonation. Tighten the vice.

5. Install and secure the emergency shutdown unit to the LRT-86-007/02 bracket.

6. Connect the LRT-86-003/03 cable of the device to the emergency shutdown unit.
7. Attach the LRT-86-003 tool to the other end of the LRT-86-003/03 cable.
8. Connect the LRT-86-003 device to the battery.
CAUTION: Make sure all people are at least 15 m away from the air bag module.
9. To activate the emergency shutdown unit, press the power button on the device body.
10. Disconnect the device from the battery.
WARNING: When triggered, parts of the airbag heat up to a high temperature and can cause burns. Wait 30 minutes after it is triggered before touching the airbag module.
11. Disconnect the device cable from the emergency shutdown unit.
12. Remove the emergency shutdown unit from the bracket and place it in a sealed bag for later disposal.
13. Wipe the bracket with a damp cloth and remove it from the vice.
14. Dispose of the used battery emergency disconnect unit in a place designated for waste incineration.
WARNING: Reuse of any components of the passive safety systems is prohibited.
NOTE: Do not transport parts of deployed passive restraint systems in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
