WARNING: Before working on passive safety systems, carefully read the relevant technical documentation.
WARNING: Always remove both battery terminals before working on the restraint systems (SRS). Disconnect first "negative " terminal. Never mix up the wires when connecting to the battery.
Dismantling
1. Follow all safety rules when working with passive safety systems.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Safety Precautions When Working on the Airbag System (SRS).
2. Remove the top cover of the control panel.
CAR INTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Upper panel - control panel.
3. Remove the bottom panel.
CAR INTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Control panel lower cover.
4. Remove the 8 Torx screws securing the airbag to the front of the control panel.
5. Turn out 2 screws from below an airbag.
6. Release the airbag module from the control panel.
CAUTION: Do not let the airbag module hang on the power cable.
7. Disconnect the block from the airbag module connector.
8. Remove the airbag module.
NOTE: If disassembly was carried out only to provide access to other elements of the system, then further disassembly operations should not be performed.
WARNING: Store the airbag model deployed side up. If the airbag is stored deployed side down, it will be thrown up with sufficient force if it is accidentally deployed to cause serious injury.
WARNING: Store airbags or pretensioners in a designated location. If there is no such place, then store these items in the trunk or luggage compartment of the car, informing the master about it.
9. Remove the glove box lock assembly from the airbag module.
Assembly
NOTE: If a SRS component needs to be replaced, note down the barcode of the new component.
1. Install the glove box lock assembly to the airbag module.
2. Install the airbag module to the control panel and connect the connector to the module connector.
3. Wrap screws of the module of an airbag and tighten them with the moment of 22 Нм.
4. Install and tighten the airbag module mounting screws.
5. Replace the bottom panel.

6. Install the control panel cover.

7. Connect the battery terminals, first "positive" terminal.
