Airbag (passenger) (Discovery 1)

Caution: After an airbag deployment, all system components, including the wiring, must be replaced.

1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Disconnect the battery, first the negative cable, then the positive.

3. Open the glove compartment and disconnect the airbag connector.



4. Using a socket and extension, remove the 2 screws securing the front airbag module to the front panel.

5. Remove the 2 screws securing the front airbag module.

6. Release the airbag module from the front panel.

Caution: Do not hang the module on wires.

7. Carefully disconnect the wiring connector from the module.

Please note: When replacing an airbag, the number of the new airbag must be recorded in the vehicle's maintenance booklet.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The tightening torque of the fastening screws is 8 Nm.
