Caution: Explosion on the vehicle may damage the steering wheel.
If the airbag does not deploy after an accident, the airbag must be manually deployed. Before detonating the airbag cartridge, check the equipment (special set SMD 4082/1).
Checking the blasting equipment

1. Insert the blue and yellow wire connectors into the corresponding connectors on the equipment.
2. Connect the equipment power supply to the battery (red wire "+" black, "-")
3. The READY (ready) indicator should light up.
4. Press and hold both equipment buttons.
5. The green DEFECTIVE (defect) indicator should light up.
6. Release the buttons.
7. The READY indicator should light up.
8. Disconnect the power and wires, the test is complete.
Car airbag explosion
This instruction is intended for service station personnel (supplement to safety instructions for performing work).
Caution: Use only LAND ROVER equipment for detonation. Detonation should be carried out in a ventilated area. Before detonating, make sure there is no damage to the airbag module.
1. Check the blasting equipment.
2. Turn the 2 screws securing the access panel and remove the panel.

3. Remove the 4 screws securing the steering column breaker device (if installed).

4. Disconnect the security system wiring connector.
5. Disconnect the security system wiring connector.
6. Connect the SMD 4082/5 wire harness to the steering wheel security system connector.

7. Connect the SMD 4082/5 wire harness to the SMD 4082/1 blasting equipment.
Caution: Make sure the airbag module is securely attached to the steering wheel.
8. Connect power to the blasting equipment. Caution: Personnel must be at least 15 meters away from the vehicle.
9. Press both buttons of the detonation equipment.
10. Do not approach the pillow module for 30 minutes.
11. Put on protective gloves and a mask, remove the pillow module and place it in a plastic bag.
12. Move the bag with the pillow to a ventilated area.
13. Collect the remaining airbag parts.
Airbag detonation outside the vehicle
Driver's airbag
Please see the notes for the previous section.
1. Check the blasting equipment.
2. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
3. Clamp the SMD 4082/2 fixture in a vice.

4. Install the airbag module onto the device, check that the fixing elements are correctly positioned.
5. Tighten the bracket fasteners.

Caution: Make sure there is no power supply to the blasting equipment.
6. Connect the SMD 4082/4 wire harness to the airbag connector.
7. Connect the wire bundle to the blasting equipment.
Caution: Do not stand in front of the airbag module when the wires are connected.
8. Connect power to the blasting equipment. Caution: Personnel must be at least 15 meters away from the airbag.
9. Press both buttons of the detonation equipment.

10. Do not approach the pillow module for 30 minutes.
11. Put on protective gloves and a mask, remove the pillow module and place it in a plastic bag.
12. Wipe the device with a dry cloth.
13. Move the bag with the pillow to a ventilated area.
Passenger airbag
1. Check the blasting equipment.
2. Remove the airbag from the front panel.
3. Clamp the SMD 4082/6 fixture in a vice.

4. Install the SMD 4082/7 brackets on the device and lightly tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Install the airbag.
6. Tighten the mounting bolts.

7. Connect the SMD 4082/4 wire harness to the airbag connector.
8. Connect the wire bundle to the blasting equipment.

9. Connect power to the blasting equipment.
Caution: Personnel must be at least 15 meters away from the airbag.
10. Press both buttons of the detonation equipment.

11. Do not approach the pillow module for 30 minutes.
12. Put on protective gloves and a mask, remove the pillow module and place it in a plastic bag.
13. Wipe the device with a dry cloth.
14. Move the bag with the pillow to a ventilated area.
